Workers CompensationPractice Area
Workers Compensation, often referred to as “workman’s compensation” or “worker’s comp” provides compensation and medical benefits to help those who have sustained an injury while at work. In order to qualify for workers compensation, the injured employee must be unable to return to work for an extended period of time.
Employers are required to purchase workers compensation insurance to cover any work-related injuries that happen to their employees. Each state has its own workers compensation program and requires employers to make payments to an employee who was injured while working. When an employee receives workers compensation benefits, they relinquish their ability to sue his or her employer for their injuries.
